Electrical Engineer
An Electrical Engineer is required to provide input into different projects and engine types. The responsibilities will include:
- Electrical system (MV LV and control) design with supporting design calculations.
- Working with CAD designer to produce electrical drawings
- Creation and maintenance of PLC and SCADA software
- Assessment and selection of components from approved suppliers
- Responding to supplier enquires
- Creation and maintenance of bills of material
- Creation and maintenance of functional design specifications
- Compliance with applicable Centrax, customer, national and international standards
- Technical support to the Sales, Projects, Production, Test and Customer Support Departments
- Technical assistance for commissioning of gas turbine generation and mechanical drive packages and associated electrical systems at customer sites
- Compilation of technical construction files to support CE marking
- Technical liaison with customers and suppliers.
The job holder will be an Engineering professional with a recognised HND or degree in Electrical Engineering. A successful track record in electrical design and site test, commissioning and fault finding on rotating machines and controls is required. A proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities is essential along with the ability to work under your own initiative to work as part of a multi disciplined team. A second language would be advantageous and the ability to undertake short overseas visits.
Mechanical Fitter
We are looking for 6 Mechanical Fitters to work on the construction of Gas Turbine Generator Sets.
Working as part of a highly skilled and flexible team your responsibilities will include:
- Assembly and/or strip of Gensets, Engines, Modules and Panels and other equipment both new and used
- General fitting including pipe making and instrumentation
- Welding, fabrication and electrical work
- Inspection of turbines utilising boroscopes and fibroscopes and the interpretation of such images to advise appropriate action
- Balancing of components and assemblies to determine multi-plane corrections required.
Applicants must be able to work shifts and a reasonable amount of overtime when necessary. Overseas travel to customer sites on installation and commissioning or customer support duties may also be required.
We are looking for a time served Fitter or equivalent with a BTEC National Certificate (Mechanical) or City and Guilds qualification. General fitting experience and the ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics is essential and previous gas turbine experience would be an advantage.

Maintenance Mechanic (Multi-Skilled)
A multi-skilled Maintenance Mechanic is required to work in a multi-skilled team to support production teams to ensure plant reliability, accuracy and improving time. Main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Responding to machine breakdowns – fault investigation and repair
- Installing and commission machinery
- Manufacture of parts in support of the maintenance and guarding of machinery
- Various electrical fault finding repair and installation tasks.
Must Be:
- Write basic programmes to test CNC M/C systems
- Make decisions, source parts
We are looking for self motivated people with an appropriate time served apprenticeship or BTEC Mechanical qualification as well as Peddi forks driving and FLT qualifications, boom lift and single lift certificates. It would be an advantage if you are multi-skilled and have the appropriate electrical experience/qualifications. However, training can be provided for the right candidate.
Quality Audit Inspector
We are looking to appoint a Quality Audit Inspector TP to audit personnel and product produced in Turbine Products and control accuracy of products and equipment. Main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Inspect 1st off components– responding to cell calls and notices
- Inspect 1st articles, measuring the component from first principles using standard inspection equipment and comparing the component with the original customer drawings and detailed specifications
- Calibrate master components
- Gauge Control: check accuracy of gauges on a regular-programmed maintenance and make adjustments. Update inspector record. Record wear patterns and make recommendations for adjustment
- In addition to the above, carry out the duties of Quality Audit Inspector (B Exp)
- Final inspection duties. Checking turbine components against shop floor drawings
- Source inspection activities
- Carry out other duties compatible with this job and the individual skills of the jobholder(s) as required by management.
Suitable candidates will ideally be from a time-served engineering or quality inspection background and be able to demonstrate knowledge of quality control techniques and a commitment to quality assurance work. You will also need to be able to use metric and imperial calculations.
