Centrax Limited is a privately owned
company based in Newton Abbot, Devon in the South West of England. The
company was founded in 1946 by Richard H H Barr OBE and the late
Geoffrey R White after both worked with Sir Frank Whittle in the Power
Jets Design Team during the Second World War - pioneering the use of
the gas turbine for use in aircraft propulsion..
This background, together with nearly 60
years of experience in the industry, has given Centrax a worldwide
reputation for quality and reliability in the power generation and
complex component manufacture markets.

Today, Centrax comprises 2
manufacturing divisions - Gas
Turbine Division (GTD) and Turbine Components Division (TCD), employing
approximately 700 people across its Newton Abbot site and European
depots. Centrax is approved to ISO9001:2000, AS9100 Rev A:2001 and
ISO14001:1996 and is committed to Nadcap accreditation for special
processes. With a £50m annual turnover in 2003, TCD and GTD
combine to service diverse customers, products and markets.
Specialising in power generation, the
Gas Turbine Division supplies gas turbine driven generator sets - of
their own design and exclusively incorporating Rolls Royce turbines -
in the range 2.5 to 6.3 MW, for the combined heat and
power/cogeneration markets worldwide.
The Turbine Components Division is an
approved supplier of high-quality complex machined components and
assemblies to many of the major Original Equipment Gas Turbine engine
manufacturing companies (OEM’s) world-wide, for Civil and Military
Aerospace and Industrial gas turbines applications as well as for
Military Auxiliary Power Units.
